I’ve completed two projects that involve painting historical figures. I thought it would be fitting to group them into one post. The first painting (A.T. Still) was for ATSU’s HEART Journal, it was an open call to faculty, staff, and students to submit artwork for publication into the Journal. The second project was a series of abstract (cubism inspired) portraits of the first five US Presidents. I painted this series after viewing a Picasso art exhibit with a friend.
Both projects gave me a chance to experiment in different styles, and allowed me to work in acrylic and ink, which can be a nice break from the computer at times.
